How to apply and perform an EFNUDAT supported experiment
(a procedure in six steps)
- Interested users (eligibility conditions) can submit a proposal responding to the permanent Call for Proposals. Applications for beam time at one of the EFNUDAT facilities must be submitted to the Transnational Access Coordinator, using the standard Application Form. To prepare an adequate proposal, it is advisable that a user contacts in advance the contact person at the facility of his choice.
- At each closing date the proposals are submitted to the evaluation by the PAC. The PAC selects the experiments following well-defined criteria.
- For an experiment that has been approved, the PAC designates the best-suited EFNUDAT facility. The PAC defines also the financial limits of the user support. Typically, support for travel, subsistence and accommodation can be provided for two researchers per experiment, during a maximum of two experimental weeks.
- All experimental and logistic details of an experiment must be discussed with a designated local contact. He will guide the external user group during the experiment. At the end of the experiment he will also submit a short Project Summary Report to the Project Coordinator.
- Within one month after finishing the experiment the group leader submits to the Project Coordinator a statement of expenses (one per supported user) and a user evaluation form. Justified costs will be reimbursed by the Project Coordinator according the EFNUDAT reimbursement rules.
- Supported users must publish their results, preferentially in peer-reviewed scientific journals. They must acknowledge the support from the EC-EURATOM through EFNUDAT.
